Full-time Positions

APPRAISAL POSITIONS

Applicants for the appraisal opening will be placed in one of the following position levels (see below for knowledge and skills for each level) based on the experience, knowledge, and skills. 

Residential Field Tech - Sarasota/Venice

An entry level full-time position that involves gathering data for use in appraisal analysis and preparation to determine values for tax roll and VAB. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

Inspecting property, reviewing and verification of permits, measuring/sketching residential properties, and communicating with taxpayers, as needed.

 

Knowledge & skills:

  • Knowledge of construction materials
  • Must be computer literate in use of MS Excel and Word
  • Position requires:
    • strong written and verbal skills,
    • creative problem solving skills,
    • excellent customer relations. 
  • Working knowledge of geometry

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Florida driver’s license
  • Impeccable organizational skills and time management
  • High level of detail and accuracy
  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience

 

Residential Field Appraiser – Sarasota/Venice

A full-time position that involves moderately complex work in gathering data for appraisal analysis and preparation to determine values for tax roll and VAB. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

Inspecting of property, determining characteristics, establishing quality grades and effective age, and communicating with taxpayers to explain valuations.

 

Knowledge & skills:

  • Knowledge of construction materials and or property inspections experience
  • Appraisal knowledge to include understanding of quality grades and effective age
  • Must be computer literate in use of MS Excel and Word, and use of office CAMA systems and GIS technology
  • Position requires:
    • strong written and verbal skills,
    • creative problem solving skills,
    • excellent customer relations. 
  • Able to provide examples of decisions made and judgment used
  • Working knowledge of geometry

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • All requirements from the Residential Field Tech position, plus-
    • Three or more years of appraisal experience

Residential Appraiser Analyst - Sarasota/Venice

A full-time position that involves complex work in appraisal preparation for tax roll and VAB.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

Researching data, inspecting property, determining characteristics, collecting and analyzing of sales and market data to determine value, preparing for VAB hearings, and communicating with taxpayers to explain valuations.

 

Knowledge & skills:

  • Mass appraisal experience (4 or more years preferred)
  • Must be computer literate in the use of MS Excel and Word
  • Position requires:
    • strong written and verbal skills,
    • strong analytical ability,
    • creative problem solving skills,
    • understanding of CAMA software,
    • excellent customer relations
  • Working knowledge of geometry

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • All requirements from the Residential Field Appraiser, plus-
    • Five or more years of appraisal experience

Starting salary could be from $35,000 to $49,232 depending on experience/level.
